OTC Elite Has Strong Showing At Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Oregon Track Club Elite was well represented at the Penn Relays over the weekend.  OTC Elite team members Jemma Simpson and Matt Scherer raced in the USA vs. the World Relays, which highlighted the iconic meet’s Saturday schedule.

Simpson, a Great Britain native, anchored her home country’s Sprint Medley Relay to a fifth place finish.  Her 2:00.92 over 800 meters was an outstanding time for such an early season event.

In the men’s Distance Medley relay Matt Scherer gave the USA White Team a superb 800 meter split of 1:45.79.  Scherer’s relay time was inside of his open personal best of 1:46.11 set last year.  And while not officially a personal best, his performance reaffirms the hard work he has put in since last year.
